My renovation nightmare turned into a financial windfall!
Who knew that the lazy, unprofessional work of a never-to-be-hired-again contractor would leave me smiling in the end?
The more I look through my photos from Tuesday night, the more I think I simply must share these!
Wednesday’s blog post showcased a bizarre wallpaper fetish, but you’d be surprised at some of the other oddities in this ‘original condition’ home…
A good friend of mine just closed on her new house tonight and we celebrated with some champagne – with no fear of spilling, breaking glasses, or trekking in mud.
You see, this house is what you might call a “complete gut,” and I have the photos to prove it…
I’m told that Rogers TV put together a show in December where reps from Plazacorp were shown my blog video and then proceeded to defend their construction “style” by claiming that I was an uninformed investor who had no idea what I was doing.
For the record – I was asked to be on that show and I politely declined. But the producer, with all his class and integrity, went ahead with the episode and used videos from my blog.
I’m hereby challenging him to a fight in the Octagon…
Perhaps I’ll try being positive, for a change!
I have completed the renovation at my new condo at West Side Lofts, and I’m quite pleased with the results.
Sure, I wish that my “finished” “new” condo was in better condition than when I took occupancy on September 28th, but it just reaffirms the old adage, “If you want something done well, do it yourself…..and pay for it out of your own pocket.”
I find myself telling my clients this a lot these days.
Home-owners become so absorbed with valuation, future-appreciation, and renovation costs that they forget why they bought the property in the first place:
To live there…
It’s been a few days now since I did my PDI at West Side Lofts, and I think I’ve actually cooled off a bit.
I’ve rid myself of all the negative energy, and I’ve formulated a plan to move forward.
Hey – at least I have a nice kitchen, right?
