New Development of The Week: ‘17-Foot-High-Ceiling Lofts’

30 06 2009

You’ve all heard the incessant radio ads, and you’ve undoubtedly heard about it from a friend or family member.

Now I’m here to review this new project; this project that I knew was a sham as soon as it was launched.

I’d rather call this “8.5-Foot-High-Ceiling Lofts, Times Two.”

Do the math for the price and for the ceiling height, and it just doesn’t add up…

‘Land Registry’ Doesn’t Quite Register…

29 06 2009

The new GeoWarehouse for 2009 was supposed to be a huge improvement over the old 2007 version and was intended to make Title Searches easier, more accurate, and provide more information.

The new system has its pros and cons, but there is one huge issue that is wrecking havoc in the resale condominium world…

You’re Fired!

26 06 2009

Not all of my real estate tales are filled with jolly-good shows and happy endings.

It’s a very up and down business, so allow me to regale you with a story from my formative years.

This is the story of the only client I have ever fired…

The Forest Hill Experience

24 06 2009

Well….I was going to write a post about how incredible Forest Hill is and explain why the area is so expensive.

I was going to show off photos I took of gorgeous houses and draw attention to the quality and curb appeal.

But when the police officer pulled me over, I knew the story would end up dramatically different…

65 Sheldrake Boulevard

23 06 2009

If anybody should be able to demonstrate a holier than thou attitude with respect to where they live, it would be the owners at St. George on Sheldrake.

This church sanctuary turned condo represents one of the most unique residential spaces I’ve seen in the entire city of Toronto…

Don’t Believe The Hype!

22 06 2009

Remember when we were kids and we had “do-overs”?  Re-plays, and second-chances?

I would imagine that the folks at Cresford Developments would LOVE to have a do-over with Merton Yonge Condos.

A couple weeks ago, they tore down their sales centre.  Now we find out that the project didn’t get financing and won’t move ahead…

Sold In Eight Hours?!?!

19 06 2009

How hot is the market right now?

How far have we come since the bottom of the real estate market last January?

Properties are selling day and night, and agents and buyers are becoming frustrated.  But a property selling in eight hours?

33 Mill Street - Continued!

17 06 2009

I don’t know much about art, and I’m really not sure why there is a giant sculpture of a black-widow spider next to the condo at 33 Mill Street in the photo below.

Here are a few more choice photos from my tour of The Distillery District

33 Mill Street - Seeing Is Believing!

16 06 2009

I’ve never traditionally been a fan of high-rise condominiums but 33 Mill Street has quickly become one of my favorite new buildings in the city!

If you haven’t been down to The Distillery District, then put it on the top of your list for places to visit this summer.

Woofstock!

15 06 2009

If you haven’t heard of it, then you’re pretty out of touch with all that Toronto has to offer.

Every year, the St. Lawrence Market plays host to “Woofstock” where the dogs are in charge.

In case you missed it, here are a few choice photos from the canine festival in the best neighborhood in the downtown core…
