Sold In ONE Day?

27 02 2009

The market may not be red-hot anymore, but it’s not to say that properties aren’t still bought and sold every day of the week.

While some properties may linger on the market for what seems like an eternity, others may turn over faster than you’d believe.

Yesterday, my clients and I sold their condo after one day on the market, and for full asking price

Into The Fire…

25 02 2009

A house came onto MLS today; well….half a house.

Once upon a time, this was a beautiful Forest Hill house where modern luxuries met with old world charm.

Today, it’s a pile of rubble for sale at $995,000…

New Blog Feature - Financial Tools

24 02 2009

It’s taken a while to finally get this up and running, but check out the financial tools section of the blog.

Maybe there are some websites out there with Land Transfer Tax calculators, but I guarantee there isn’t a mortgage calculator like the one I’ve got!

Go ahead, click that link…

Toronto Parking Tickets

23 02 2009

You know that old adage about Toronto?  The one that goes, “There are two seasons in Toronto: Winter, and Construction.”

Well I think there is a third season; one that is twelve-months long: parking tickets.

But there is a new website out there that helps us stick it to the man!  Visit www.parkingtickets.to.

Image Is Everything

20 02 2009

I conducted an experiment in image over the long weekend, and the results were quite intriguing.

Perhaps we could all learn from my experience, or at least apply the outcome to society and draw some conclusions of our own.

Those who know me best would suggest that the following story is without a shred of exaggeration…

Condo Security

19 02 2009

In the last month, no less than three of my friends have had their cars broken into while parked in their underground parking lots overnight.

This has prompted me to second-guess the security measures in most condominiums.

Who ever thought that we’d take our security for granted?

Refuse To Lose!

18 02 2009

There are a lot of sellers in this city that are still pricing their properties like it’s September, 2007.

The market has changed, and even though properties are still being bought and sold every day, some sellers are just stubborn.

I recently read something in the book “The Ascent of Money” that may shed some light on why…

“Million Dollar Listing”

17 02 2009

A friend of mine suggested that I watch the HGTV show Million Dollar Listing, telling me, “It’ll make you want to punch your TV.”

I saw the show.

My hand really hurts…

And now, I’ll share my thoughts on this show with just as much cynicism as usual…

Multiple Representation

13 02 2009

Okay, I don’t know what the photo below has to do with multiple representation, but it came up on Google Images when I searched, and I think if anybody hasn’t seen that S.N.L. sketch with JT & Beyonce, they’re missing out!

Multiple Representation in real estate has always been a contentious topic, so today I’d like to analyze the potential conflict of interest that exists in representing both buyer and seller to a transaction…

Brangelina’s House

12 02 2009

All it took was a mere mention of the house that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie leased in my post yesterday, and I received a half-dozen emails from my readers who wanted to know MORE!

Doesn’t anybody care about important things anymore?

No?  Alright, fine.  Here’s the dirt on Brangelina’s mansion…
