Don’t get me wrong; I absolutely love living in my 1-bedroom condo at King & Sherbourne with my gorgeous patio and the St. Lawrence Market a stone’s throw away.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t think about the house I grew up in…
They say, “records are meant to be broken.” Well then, are houses meant to be torn down?

I had a pretty good response to my Top Ten: Over-Used Real Estate Buzz-Words the other day, so I thought I’d pick up where I left off.
The reality is, there are too many of these annoying catch-phrases or meaningless adjectives to list, but they sure allow me to fill my daily quota of cynicism…

Hindsight is a funny thing.
Because now it all makes sense! I mean at the time, I didn’t have a second thought in the world about telling my girlfriend, “I think that dress makes you look really fat.”
It’s a little tougher to look back on the woulda-coulda-shoulda’s of real estate investing…

I’ve touched on this in the past, but now it’s really getting on my nerves.
I’m just sick and tired of seeing the same adjectives used over and over to describe real estate!
It just feels as if the collective Realtors in this city wrote all their MLS descriptions without a thesaurus in sight…

Picking a tenant for your investment property is a lot like dating.
You meet the person for the first time, and while you don’t know right away if this is “the one,” you surely know right away when this is NOT “the one.”
I’ve come across some pretty bizarre characters in the last few days…

On the 26th of August, I have my “PDI” at Rezen Condominiums. I’m scheduled to take possession of my new unit on August 28th.
Just what is “PDI”? What is the purpose and why do we do it?
Consider it a preemptive strike against the developer; it’s not like a developer has ever cut any corners before, right?

“If it can happen in the stock market, it can certainly happen in real estate.”
This was a comment somebody posted on my blog last week that I didn’t approve because it was preceded by a couple of very obnoxious statements.
Some people assume that if the stock market is volatile, so too is the real estate market. Well I’m here to tell you that just isn’t the case…

Imagine having to sell to a salesperson. It’s not an easy task.
With some pre-construction projects, the on-site sales people and marketing team need to lure in Realtors in order to get those Realtors to sell or recommend the project to their clients.
Perks are part of the business, but normally they go to the buyer…..not the agent…

No, I don’t mean that crummy movie with Keanu Reeves and Al Pacino, I’m talking about the act of taking a position opposite of what you actually believe just for the sake of argument.
I’m talking about seeing both sides to the equation in order to make things more clear.
Sometimes it’s harder to do than you might think, like in today’s multiple offer scenario…

Conditional sales are not uncommon in real estate, but many of the conditions themselves are.
There are a couple of conditions I have never seen in deals before, and there is good reason for it…
